Adams County Court Schedule

To find an Adams County court date, figure out first which court holds the case. Circuit hearings sit with the Clerk of Circuit Court, while each municipal court keeps its own dates. Circuit activity shows up in the statewide docket, and some municipal courts post their own calendars or mail notices. The Adams County court schedule pairs every public hearing with a date, time, court, and type of setting, but a calendar only looks forward. It is not the full docket history. Settings can also change, so the clerk or municipal court remains the best source whenever a date, branch, courtroom, or hearing status is unclear.

How the Adams County Court Calendar Works

A circuit hearing in Adams County shows up as a public activity through Wisconsin Circuit Court Access. The entry may show the date and setting type. Yet the branch, courtroom, judge, and current status still need the clerk's confirmation. Two circuit branches share one courthouse here. The building address alone will not tell a person which courtroom to enter.

Municipal calendars are a separate world. Wisconsin Dells runs its own municipal court for city ordinance cases. The Town of Rome posts a recurring schedule for its court. A municipal date is never an Adams County Circuit Court date. That holds unless the case was filed or transferred there.

Adams Calendar or Docket History?

The two tools answer different questions. A calendar lists hearings expected to occur. A docket records the whole sequence of filings, orders, settings, and outcomes over the life of a case. A case can appear on a calendar while the documents and earlier events stay off it, and an old docket setting can linger in view even after a later entry changes it.

Trust the newest official source, especially when an old setting clashes with a fresh notice.

Adams County Court Date Lookups

Begin with the full case or citation number. It keeps you off a similarly named case. Keep the court name handy too, since circuit and municipal matters use different calendar sources and different offices.

  1. Search the public WCCA case information and select Adams County for a circuit case.
  2. Open the matching result and read the latest public activity and setting.
  3. Call the Adams County clerk at (608) 339-4208 to confirm the circuit branch, courtroom, date, and time.
  4. Visit the clerk counter at 401 Adams Street, Suite 6, Friendship, or use a courthouse public terminal when online data is not enough.
  5. For Wisconsin Dells or Rome ordinance matters, use that municipal court's page and phone route rather than assuming WCCA controls.
  6. Check the current mailed notice, posted calendar, and court closure information before travel.

The county posts no daily printed calendar. Ask the clerk whether a posted or counter calendar exists for the date you need.

Adams Circuit Branch Confirmation

Adams County Circuit Court runs two branches. Branch 1 belongs to Judge Daniel G. Wood, and Branch 2 to Judge Tania M. Bonnett, per the county listing. The local branch phone is (608) 339-4215. A docket result naming the branch beats the courthouse address every time.

Transcripts follow a different path. A calendar entry is no recording, so ask the clerk or court reporter about the proceeding date, availability, certification, timing, and current price.

Court Settings: What Each Field Means

Read every field as one picture. A date alone, without the court, branch, and activity type, can point at the wrong event. The caption confirms the case, and an appearance notation may show who was expected or present. Not every public calendar shows every field.

Date and timeThe scheduled start, subject to a later order or notice.
Court and branchThe circuit branch or municipal court holding the setting.
Case numberThe strongest link between the calendar and docket.
Setting typeInitial appearance, motion, pretrial, review, trial, or another activity.
Judge or officialThe listed judicial officer, which may change by assignment.
StatusWhether the matter is set, continued, cancelled, or recorded as held.

Rome Municipal Dates in Adams

The Town of Rome Municipal Court page places court at Town Hall, 1156 Alpine Drive, Nekoosa, on the third Tuesday of each month. Initial appearances start at 10:00 a.m. Review and indigency matters follow at 10:30 a.m., and pretrial times come only on mailed notices.

The page posts 2026 dates. They run from January 20 through December 15. Its courtroom stays open to the public. Juvenile matters are the one exception, and they can force the room to be cleared. The town names Judge Mark Thibodeau as its judge. Keep this in mind. It is a municipal source, not a live calendar for the two Adams County circuit branches.

It works well as a recurring-calendar check, but the mailed notice controls the case-specific pretrial time.

When an Adams Court Date Moves

Dates move for different reasons. A continuance shifts a proceeding to another day. A reset replaces the prior setting. A cancellation removes the event, though new activity may still follow. None of these words means the whole case was dismissed. Read the later docket lines and any new court notice.

Setting
A proceeding placed on the court's schedule.
Continuance
An order or action moving a matter to a later date.
Reset
A new setting that replaces an earlier one.
Cancelled
The listed event will not proceed as first scheduled.

Never report an old WCCA activity as the current hearing without checking for newer entries. Municipal pages can carry a standing monthly plan that misses a last-minute change in a case.

Adams Family Hearing Dates

The Adams County family packet gives one clear instruction. Anyone seeking a date and time for a post-case motion should call the clerk at (608) 339-4208. The clerk supplies the official hearing officer, courtroom, date, and time. That call does not file the motion itself.

Family procedure may also demand the right form, service, notarization, and other steps. Court staff explain procedure. They cannot choose a legal course for anyone. Public family docket activity can leave out child, financial, health, or protected address information.

Note: Keep the date given by staff. File it with the motion and proof of service rather than relying on memory.

Adams Closures and Access Plans

A courthouse closure can shut a clerk counter. It can also change how a scheduled proceeding is handled. One more caution applies here. Check the official Wisconsin circuit holiday schedule and any Adams County notices before you drive over. Court hours, security entry, and clerk-counter hours vary. They do not always line up with a hearing time.

Adams County posts an ADA Accommodation Request, an Interpreter Request, and a language-access plan. If you need an accommodation or an interpreter, contact the clerk before the hearing date. Bring the case number, the court name, and the setting details. That lets staff route the request to the right place.

A Wisconsin Dells ordinance case works differently. The city court page sets a deadline. A defendant must contact the court, appear, pay, or enter a plea by the initial appearance deadline. Miss it and the court can enter a default judgment. The city court phone is (608) 254-2442.

Missed Settings and What Comes Next

Missed an Adams County hearing? Move fast. Pull the most recent public docket activity first. Then call the court that actually holds the case. When you call, give the full case or citation number, and ask whether the clerk entered a warrant, an order, a default judgment, or a new setting. One thing a docket date cannot do is settle the outcome by itself. The missed date alone tells you nothing about the result, so ask staff directly.

A missed date may have immediate effects. Circuit criminal cases, civil matters, and municipal citations do not share one consequence. Only the current docket, court notice, and responsible clerk can establish what happened in the specific case.

Where you call depends on the case type. Circuit matters belong to the Adams County Clerk of Circuit Court. Municipal cases go straight to Wisconsin Dells or Rome. Keep in mind that WCCA may lag behind the paper file, so the court's own records or a staff confirmation can be more current than the online docket. For help finding the right circuit result, the Adams County docket search walks through the steps.
